Cooling Repair
Missoula summers are not what they used to be. Weeks in the 90s and a smoke season that keeps windows shut mean a working air conditioner is no longer a luxury in the valley. When yours stops cooling, Blue Collar Heating and Air gets it running again without the inflated quote.
Straight Answers, Fair Prices
We repair central air conditioners, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits of every brand. Our technicians arrive with the common parts on the truck, so most repairs are finished in one visit.
Serving Clinton, Missoula, Lolo, Frenchtown, the Bitterroot Valley, plus scheduled service to Helena, Great Falls and Libby and Troy.
Know the Signs
Usually low refrigerant, a failed compressor, a bad capacitor or a frozen evaporator coil.
A system that runs all afternoon and still cannot hold 72 degrees is losing capacity somewhere.
Restricted airflow or a refrigerant leak. Shut the system off and call before the compressor is damaged.
Failing fan motors, a seized compressor or electrical contact problems.
A clogged condensate drain or a cracked drain pan.
An electrical fault in the condenser or a compressor drawing too much current.
What to Expect
Local Expertise
A lot of homes in Missoula, Lolo and the Bitterroot were built without central air. Many now have systems that were added later and sized in a hurry. We see undersized condensers, restrictive duct runs and mismatched coils all summer. A proper diagnosis catches those problems instead of just topping off refrigerant every June.
Wildfire smoke changes the equation, too. During smoke season, families run their AC around the clock with the house sealed up. That is when weak capacitors, dirty coils and marginal compressors fail. A spring tune-up prevents most of those calls. When it does not, we are here.
Call or text and tell us what is going on. We will give you an honest arrival window and an upfront quote before any work begins. Financing is available on major repairs and new systems.
